Georgian Minister of Environment and Agriculture Davit Songulashvili Attends the Opening Ceremony of the China International Import Expo
Within the framework of his official visit to the People's Republic of China, the Georgian Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili, attended the opening ceremony of the China International Import Expo.
“Georgia is represented at the International Import Expo in China with the status of an honored guest country. The Chinese market is of strategic importance to us. Participation in this major exhibition is an opportunity to gain even greater access to the Chinese market. This year, more than 40 Georgian companies are participating in the expo. Before the opening of the exhibition, several memorandums and agreements were signed between Georgia and China. Taken together, these steps create all the necessary conditions to deepen cooperation between the two countries and open up opportunities for Georgian companies and products to become more recognizable in the Chinese market — which, in turn, will support the growth of exports from Georgia and the country’s economic development,” said Davit Songulashvili.
It is noteworthy that during the visit to the People's Republic of China, Davit Songulashvili signed memorandums of cooperation between the two countries covering the fields of agriculture and environmental protection.
The Georgian government delegation, led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, is visiting the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of Premier Li Qiang.
