Georgian Land Reclamation and Civita Advance Development of Modern Billing System with World Bank Support

Gigla Tamazashvili, General Director of Georgian Land Reclamation LLC, held a working meeting with representatives of Civita to discuss progress on a new billing program being developed with the support of the World Bank's "Georgia Sustainable Agriculture, Irrigation and Land Project" (GRAIL).

The billing system, designed to meet modern requirements, aims to streamline and enhance processes related to customer contracts, payments, debt monitoring, and overall financial management between the company and its clients. Work on the system is currently in an active phase.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed outcomes from consultations held with various company departments over the past month and addressed solutions to identified challenges. Upcoming field visits are also planned, during which Civita representatives will visit key infrastructure sites including Sioni, Paldo, Kvemo Samgori headworks, and the service areas of local water user organizations to gain first-hand insight into operational specifics.

As emphasized during the discussions, the implementation of an efficient system for settlement operations, data accuracy, and information and financial services is a strategic priority for Georgian Land Reclamation LLC. The new billing program will also support the development of water distribution plans for irrigation services.

The meeting was attended by department heads responsible for operational activities, water resources management, energy, state economic relations, and collaboration with donor organizations.
