Georgian Airways intends to restore all the regular routes on which COVID-19 operated before the pandemic.

Roman Bokeria, CEO of the airline, explained that the date for the renewal of the regular flights is not yet known, as Georgia is still closed for such flights and the company is waiting for the decision of the aviation authorities.

It is also noteworthy that Georgian Airways will gradually return to regular destinations.

"Georgian national airlines is ready to renew our regular flights in all the directions we have been operating on. We are talking about 16 regular destinations and plus charter flights. We will resume regular flights as soon as the relevant permission of the Georgian government is issued. However, when we will resume regular flights depends on the decision of the Georgian government and also on the protocols of the airports of the countries where we will operate flights, "Roman Bokeria said.

Against the background of the temporary suspension of regular flights, Georgian Airways organizes special flights, thus returning citizens living in Georgia.

"On the instructions of the Government of Georgia and their coordination, we will continue to organize special flights. We have established a very successful relationship, as one organism, we are a good team with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the National Tourism Administration, and together we have implemented 28 special flights. Georgian Airways has returned about 3,500 Georgian citizens to Georgia - successfully, healthily and safely, "Bokeria explained.

Against the backdrop of COVID-19, the CEO of Georgian Airways also draws attention to the regulations that are being introduced and made mandatory at all airlines and airports.

"All our passengers must be wearing gloves and face masks, and if there is any other recommendation from international aviation organizations, we will definitely consider it," said the CEO of Georgian Airways.
