Georgia, Israel Discuss Expansion of Agricultural Cooperation and Technology Exchange
David Songhulashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, met with Hadas Meitzad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Georgia, to discuss ongoing projects and prospects for enhanced bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
During the meeting, Minister Songhulashvili expressed gratitude to the Israeli government for years of productive collaboration and emphasized the importance of the historic relationship between the two countries. He also highlighted the need to integrate modern agricultural knowledge and technologies into Georgia’s farming sector.
Special attention was given to successful initiatives implemented in Georgia by Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV), particularly in advancing sustainable agricultural practices.
The discussion focused on a range of key issues, including:

Minister Songhulashvili noted that Israel offers significant potential to help boost exports of Georgian agri-food products through targeted cooperation and expertise.
Ambassador Meitzad reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to supporting Georgia’s agricultural development, stating, “Georgia is a friendly country to Israel, and we will continue to provide strong support for the development of its agricultural sector.”
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and was attended by Deputy Minister Lasha Dolidze and other senior officials.
