Georgia-China Trade Relations Saw Significant Growth in 2022
In 2022, the trade turnover between Georgia and China reached $1.862 billion, marking a significant increase of 25.8% compared to the previous year's total export-import index.
Notably, 39.5% of the trade volume was contributed by exports, with China being the largest partner with a share of 737 million dollars, indicating a growth of 19.7% compared to the previous year. The primary export commodity to China was copper ores and concentrates, with its sale contributing to more than 50% of the total export.
On the other hand, imports accounted for 60.5% of the trade turnover, and China ranked as the third-largest partner with an 8.4% share. In 2022, Georgia spent $1.126 billion on various imported goods from China, registering a significant increase of 30.2% compared to the previous year.
