Georgia and Uzbekistan Discuss Connecting Their Technoparks

From an economic point of view, cooperation with Uzbekistan is a priority for both Georgia and Uzbekistan. We have set very specific goals of cooperation, which we will implement within the framework of the bilateral intergovernmental commission, - said Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili in Uzbekistan.

According to him, at the meetings held within the framework of the Prime Minister's visit to Uzbekistan, it was decided that an intergovernmental commission meeting will be held in Tashkent this year, which will discuss the development of certain projects.

"It was decided that an intergovernmental commission session will be held in Tashkent this year, which will discuss the development of very specific projects. Several areas with the greatest potential in bilateral economic relations have been identified. This is to deepen trade relations and increase exports and imports from both sides so that we support Georgian entrepreneurs, and Uzbekistan also supports Uzbek entrepreneurs in terms of exporting more products.

The interest has increased in the Middle Corridor, Georgia's transit potential, and in this regard, I think there is a great potential for cooperation with Uzbekistan. This year we have a record amount of cargo turnover with Uzbekistan.

We have made the plans at Technopark to connect the Georgian free economic and industrial zones with the Tashkent Technopark and to implement joint projects so that Uzbek and Georgian manufacturers can benefit as much as possible from the advantages that Georgia has in terms of free trade with Europe,' 'said Levan Davitashvili.
