Georgia and Hungary Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation
An introductory meeting was held between the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, and the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Georgia, Petra Ponevach-Panas.
The parties discussed current issues in bilateral relations and explored opportunities to further deepen cooperation. David Songulashvili expressed gratitude to the former Hungarian Ambassador, Anna Maria Schiko, for her contribution to building the Georgian-Hungarian partnership and emphasized the importance of continuing and enhancing that relationship.
“We are ready to deepen cooperation and build a more effective partnership. As you know, we are working closely with the Hungarian Ministries of Energy and Agriculture, with which we recently signed memorandums. This collaboration opens new opportunities and requires substantial joint efforts. We see great potential in developing trade, tourism, investments, and cooperation in the agricultural sector between our countries. Additionally, we look forward to welcoming experts who will assist us in the European integration process and in effectively implementing the commitments undertaken under the Association Agreement,” said David Songulashvili.
It is noteworthy that in 2025, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia signed two memorandums with the Hungarian Ministries of Agriculture and Energy. These agreements aim to strengthen the strategic partnership and foster practical cooperation in agriculture and environmental protection between the two countries.
