Georgia and China Discuss Expanding Trade, Agricultural Exports, and Environmental Cooperation

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for deepening cooperation between Georgia and China.

According to Nino Tandilashvili, the Free Trade Agreement signed between the two countries creates an important foundation for strengthening trade and economic relations.

The First Deputy Minister spoke about products with export potential and placed particular emphasis on the export opportunities for poultry and honey. The discussion also covered the development of the tea sector and the importance of enhancing cooperation in this field.

The parties also discussed cooperation in the field of environmental protection, including the sharing of experience in the management and maintenance of protected areas.

The meeting further addressed the simplification of procedures related to the import of vehicles from China, and discussions were held on improving existing mechanisms.

The meeting at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture was attended by Head of the Environment and Climate Change Department Nino Tkhilava, Head of the Department of International Relations and European Integration Davit Chitaishvili, Head of the National Environmental Agency Elene Gubianuri, and Deputy Head of the Agency Archil Adamia.
