Davit Songulashvili Highlights Veterinary Education and Global Health Cooperation at Paris Ministerial
Georgian Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Davit Songulashvili delivered a speech at the ministerial held within the framework of the 92nd General Session of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) in Paris. The session was attended by agriculture ministers from around 20 countries.
In his address, Songulashvili underscored the pivotal role of WOAH and emphasized the importance of expanding educational activities, strengthening veterinary capacity, and improving access to vaccines in the global fight against animal diseases.
“We reaffirm our readiness to cooperate with the World Organization for Animal Health and its member states, thereby contributing to the effective fight against animal diseases and supporting the principles of One Health, which are critical for environmental protection, agriculture, food safety, and overall well-being,” said Minister Davit Songulashvili.
As part of the ministerial, the Georgian Minister also held bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Agriculture of Spain, France, Kenya, and Morocco, discussing opportunities for collaboration in agriculture and food safety.
The World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), which brings together 183 countries, has counted Georgia as a member since 1992.
The meeting was also attended by Ekaterine Kokaia, Acting Ambassador of Georgia to the French Republic.
