David Songulashvili Summarizes Visit to Kenya: “Environmental Goals Are Unattainable Without Peace”

“The seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly, where I had the opportunity to speak, is an important platform where countries present their achievements and experiences in environmental fields.

The key message that is of paramount importance for us—and which we voiced from this podium—is that reforms cannot be implemented and environmental goals cannot be achieved without peace. Preserving peace requires effort. Only peace ensures the stable development of every country and the achievement of set goals,” said David Songulashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, while summarizing his visit to the Republic of Kenya.

“Within the framework of the working visit to the Republic of Kenya, we held bilateral meetings with senior UN officials and with several colleague ministers. We discussed Georgia’s achievements in the environmental field, and we received firm solidarity and support for the implementation of reforms and ambitious plans,” David Songulashvili noted.
