David Songulashvili Meets Forest Service Staff in Kvareli to Review On-Site Working Conditions
Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, together with the State Representative in the Kakheti Region, Giorgi Aladashvili, and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Regional Policy and Self-Government, Irakli Kadagishvili, met with Forest Service employees in Kvareli to assess their working conditions on site. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture released the information.
The Kakheti Forest Service employs 15 foresters and 57 forest guards. The building is equipped with modern, high-standard inventory and equipment, and the renovated facility provides all National Forest Agency services to the local population.
During the meeting with Forest Service employees, Minister Songulashvili emphasized the importance of proper working conditions and social guarantees for agency staff. He noted that recent legislative amendments and their enforcement have significantly improved employee protections.
It is also noteworthy that the National Forestry Agency provides life and health insurance for foresters. Additionally, to encourage reporting of illegal logging—which often involves risk—a performance-based incentive system has been introduced, helping to boost employee motivation.
The National Forestry Agency operates through nine regional forest services across Georgia.
