"Dams and Hydropower: Adapting for a Changing World”

The Georgian National Committee on Large Dams (GNCOLD) is delighted to announce of holding the international conference: "Dams and Hydropower: Adapting for a Changing World”, which will be take place in Hilton Garden Inn Tbilisi Chavchavadze,   on November 7, 2023.

The Georgian National Committee on Large Dams Conference is a gathering of state and private organizations and stakeholders within the industry. The event aims to foster knowledge exchange, facilitate meaningful discussions, and drive advancements in the field of dam safety and hydropower.

During the conference, scientific sessions will be held, where representatives of the scientific and engineering fields will present and talk about important achievements and challenges in the region and the world. As well they will be have opportunity of sharing their insights, expertise, and knowledge regarding achievements and challenges in the region and beyond.  The event will also include an exhibition/showcase session, where engineering safety and instrumental monitoring system manufacturers will present their cutting-edge solutions and technologies.

While the Conference is the focus of the event, we would also like to inform you that there will be a three-day specialized training course on risk-informed dam safety management conducted by the Spanish engineering-consulting company “iPresas -Risk Analysis” from November 8 to 10. This training will provide attendees with valuable insights into risk-informed decision-making and dam safety governance.

The conference will be opened by the Chairman of the Georgian National Committee on Large Dams (GNCOLD), Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Davit Mirtskhulava, as well as speakers of the conference are world-renowned experts from Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, etc.
