Cost of Living for Able-bodied Man Declines to 186.6 GEL
The cost of living of an able-bodied man in June declined by 3 GEL to 186.6 GEL, while the figure was 189.6 GEL in May 2020.
Furthermore, according to Geostat, the national statistics service of Georgia, the cost of living of an average consumer in June decreased by 2.6 GEL to 165.3 GEL, while the cost of living of an average family shrank by 5 GEL to 313 GEL.
As for the cost of living due to the number of family members, the June statistics are as follows: 165.3 GEL for one-member family, 264.4 GEL for two-member family, 297.5 GEL for three-member family, 330.5 GEL for a four-member family, 371.9 GEL for five-member family, 439.6 GEL for six-member family.
Geostat calculates the cost of living based on the minimum food basket comprising various food products necessary for a normal life and working capacity of an able-bodied mature man. The basket comprises 40 food products, including bread, beef, dairy products, vegetable, and confectionaries.
