Batumi Bypass Road Construction Works Underway

The Road Department of Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has been constructing a 14-km section of Batumi bypass road.

At this stage, land works, underground crosswalks, bridges and tunnel construction works are being performed.

Two-lane reinforcement concrete road will be constructed as part of the project, as well as 19 bridges, 5 tunnels and 57 water channels. The new bypass road will cross Makhinjauri, Gantiadi, kapreshumi, Salibauri, Peria, Makhvilauri da Khelvachauri.

The project is being financed by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Asian Infrastructural Investment Bank (AIIB). Total value of the agreement is 329 630 734 GFEL. The construction works will be completed in 2020.
