Georgian Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili and the USAID Mission Director Peter Wiebler have opened Mza Chitili seedling nursery in the village of Azizkedi, Marneuli District.
“With the support of the USA and in partnership with the USAID, many successful projects have been implemented in Georgia and this seedling nursery is a clear sample. Besides financial support, the US technical assistance and introduction of due knowledge are also crucially important. We believe that Mza Chitili seedling nursery will play an essential role in the Georgian agriculture industry development.
Production of high-quality hybrid vegetable seedlings, berry cultures, and an introduction of patented systems of irrigation is very important for the field development. As a result of tight cooperation between the Ministry, USAID, Sakpatenti, and the private company, we have taken an important step for developing the fruit sector and boost the competitive capacity”, Georgian Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili noted.
The USAID Mission Director Peter Wiebler:
“For many years the USAID has been contributing to an introduction of modern technologies in the Georgian agriculture sector to increase the value of production and farmers’ incomes.
“All farmers aim to develop an inclusive economy to create more job places. Mza Chitili is a modern enterprise that manufactures high-value and high-quality products. In the near future, we will supply our products to the Georgian market and export products to neighboring countries and Europe.
We are proud to promote the company’s progress, provide technical assistance to Georgian farmers in exports of their products to global markets”, Peter Wibler noted.
Mza Chitili is one of the leading seedling nurseries in Georgia that produces vegetable and flower seedlings. Over the past months, the company also started production of berry seedlings amid the growing demand in Georgia.
