About 42 000 Officials Withdraw from State Pension Scheme

Pension Agency of Georgia has sent a written letter to Zurab Chiaberashvili, parliament member from European Georgia political party.

A total of 41 805 officials have left the state pensions scheme. As to the private sector, 107 137 citizens have left the scheme.

Thus, a total of 148 942 citizens of Georgia over 40 years old have withdrawn from the pension scheme. At the same time, 215 331 citizens lost the right for leaving the scheme, because they have not applied to the agency within legal timeframes.

“A total of 856 005 citizens have joined the pension scheme since January 1, 2019. The pension agency analyzes the engagement and withdrawal indicators. As a result, over the past 2 months, applications for withdrawal have shrunk 10 times.

According to the Pension Agency, the fund has already accumulated 273 million GEL as of August 6, 2019.
