“$3.6 Billion Has Already Been Invested in Georgia’s Economy from Azerbaijan – Today We Discussed New Opportunities and Investment Projects” – Ilham Aliyev

A total of $3.6 billion has already been invested in Georgia’s economy by Azerbaijan, and discussions were held today on new opportunities and investment projects, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated during a joint briefing with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to President Aliyev, the investment climate in Georgia enables businesses to further increase their investments.“We have achieved significant progress in the economic sphere. Prior to my visit, I reviewed statistical data on our cooperation, and billions of dollars are being invested in Georgia, with growth being impressive. The first-quarter indicators confirm this trend. By the end of the year, we will exceed several billion, and the investment climate allows businesses to further expand their investments. A total of $3.6 billion has already been invested in Georgia’s economy from our country, and today we discussed new opportunities and new investment projects. We may also consider joint investments in third countries.

We also discussed regional security and the current situation. The new reality in the South Caucasus was not overlooked. Countries in the region must remain focused on peace, stability, and security, especially at a time when these principles are being challenged in various parts of the world. Such developments must not affect our region. The South Caucasus should remain a region of peace, stability, and cooperation, and I would like to particularly emphasize Georgia’s important role.

Mr. Prime Minister, you mentioned the peace process developing between us and Armenia. The agreements we sign are not sufficient on their own; every future step must strengthen this peace. These meetings and visits serve exactly that purpose. We initiated dialogue with Armenia through Georgia, and I would like to thank the Georgian government for its support,” said Ilham Aliyev.
