21% of the Flights Scheduled for March Canceled at Tbilisi Airport

Coronavirus outbreak has significantly reduced its scheduled flights to Tbilisi International Airport.

According to Tea Zakaradze, deputy general manager of Tbilisi and Batumi airport operator TAV Georgia, the number of flights to Tbilisi International Airport has decreased by 21% in the wake of COVID-19 spread worldwide.

“Of the 259 flights scheduled for the week, 204 will be operated. 11 airlines have suspended flights to Georgia to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including China Southern Airlines, Qeshm Air, Taban Air, Ryanair, EL AL, Israir Airlines, ATA Airlines, Zagros Airlines, Thai Airways, Korean Air. At the same time, frequencies were reduced by airlines that were flying from Tbilisi to different destinations, ”Tea Zakaradze explains.

According to her, disinfection works are carried out daily at Tbilisi and Batumi International Airport to prevent COVID-19.
