Travel Time from Tbilisi to Racha to be Reduced by 1-1.5 Hours

The road construction will reduce travel time from Tbilisi to Racha by about 1-1.5 hours. The completion of the project is expected in 2020-2022.

The construction works are underway at 5 different sites. The tender has been completed for the sixth one and it’s at the evaluation process. Seventh tender will be announced by the end of the works.

The road connects two regions- Oni and Sachkere, that existed before, but the rehabilitation process will make it faster to get there. It’s expected to benefit the development of tourism. The road will pass Sachkere villages connecting Oni, shrinking 45 kilometers.
