Smart Traffic Lights to be Installed in Tbilisi

According to the information provided by chairman of Tbilisi Mayor, Maia Bitadze, the City Hall starts to work on an unprecedented project, which is installing smart traffic lights.

As Maia Bitadze noted, apart from settling Bus Lanes in the whole city, the City Hall starts working on installing smart traffic lights. The researching results of the project are entrusted to German company "Copa".

"In the current year, we are declaring to purchase smart traffic lights, which will make a huge step for developing transport policy. This is the first stage for maintaining traffic jams in the city with the assistance of smart system, in which human involvement will be maximally reduced.", declared Maia Bitadze.

In total, the price of implementing the project is approximately 15-20 million Euros. Within the frameworks of the project, the equipment will be completely renewed.

As chairman of the Mayor stated, the project will be implemented in 1-2 years.
