Seminar Proper recycling of photochemical Waste and Environmental protection Held in Georgia

“Proper recycling of photochemical waste and environmental protection” for the representatives of the medical facilities took place in Georgia at National Center of Disease Control and Public Health.

The seminar was organized by Polish-Georgian Chamber of Industry with Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. The seminar was held in collaboration with GPP Recykling - the main partner of the event.

During the meeting, a new manual was presented to the representatives of the medical centers on the management of photochemical waste at the medical facility. The document will be approved by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia as a national public health recommendation.

Discussed topics:

  • What types of legal responsibilities do the medical institutions have regarding waste management;
  • What should be the process of separation of waste in clinics;
  • What are the consequences of incorrect waste management for human health and the environment;
  • How the correct process of waste disposal and recycling looks like.
  • What Georgia can learn from Polish waste management system (case study).

The seminar was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Marcin Rutowicz, President of the Polish-Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Georgia.
