Regulator does not Recommend Georgian Airlines to use Iranian and Iraqi Airspace
Georgian airlines are no longer recommended to use Iranian and Iraqi airspace.
The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA) has already urged airlines registered in Georgia to refrain from using Iranian and Iraqi airspace.
In turn, the agency's recommendation is based on a widespread recommendation by the EU Aviation Security Risk Assessment Team, based on the widespread exposure to Iranian and Iraqi airspace safety and aviation security risks.
“International aviation organizations and aviation authorities are constantly exchanging information and assessing current risks to ensure the safety of passengers and flights,''-is said at the announcement.
