Project of Georgian Animated Film Among the Favorites of the Annecy Festival

The project of the animated film about the lion, which is looking for a special hairstyle, has been included in the selected projects of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

631 projects from South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, France, Hungary, Japan, Great Britain and other countries took part in the festival.Only 38 of them were selected, including the Georgian project.

The seven-minute animation, titled "New Look for Lion", was created by THE POCKET STUDIO studio, directed by Ana Chubinidze and with her graphic support. Ana Chubinidze and Giorgi Avaliani worked on the script of the project, and Erekle Getsadze wrote the musical composition. The author of the idea is Sesili Tsetskhladze, the seven-year-old son of Ana Chubinidze.

The story of the animation is as follows: in search of the perfect hairstyle, lion visits all the stylists in town. However, neither the zebra nor the elephant, nor the antelope, the parrot and the flamingo can choose the hairstyle for him. Finally, lion comes to the conclusion that the most suitable is his natural hairstyle.

“Annecy International Animated Film Festival is the most important event in this field and will be held for the sixtieth time this year. Within the framework of the festival, a competition is held every year, where the members of the jury choose new projects and share them with international televisions, studios and producers. It is gratifying that the Georgian animated film project will be presented for the first time in this category, ”- said Ana Chubinidze at Marketer.
