Organic Melon Grown in Village Tsaishi

For the first time, the organic melon culture was grown in the village of Tsaishi, Samegrelo Region.

Organic seed has been planted on 4000 square meter space in Geno Asatiani greenhouse complex. The businessman told BM.Ge that the fist harvest was picked 20 days ago and the product is sold in Tbilisi and western Georgia.

The price of 1 kilogram of ecologically clean product is 3 GEL.

This year the businessman plans to pick 10-14 tons of melon. At this stage, only our product is sold on the market, the businessman noted.

“We have no competitor on the market. we have used Dutch hybrid seed with special taste characteristics. There is much demand on the market and we cannot fully satisfy this demand”, Asatiani noted.

The greenhouse complex was developed with the support of Enterprise Georgia program and total investments made up 300 000 GEL.
