Measures taken Against Coronavirus in Georgia
According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, director of the National Center for Disease Control, all relevant agencies are involved in the process of preventing coronavirus in Georgia.
According to Gamkrelidze, all passengers are checked at the borders and they are also actively provided with information about the virus.
“Yesterday the Prime Minister's decree on intensifying the fight was issued. Several agencies are involved in this battle and coordinated work is underway. A coordinating council is set up where all the information is received. As much prevention as possible should be done first to prevent the virus from being imported, and second, to what urgent measures should be taken.
The virus has not been imported to Georgia so far. According to the latest data, 110 people arrived from China and 129 people left. Therapeutic screening has begun across the border this week, we are measuring temperature, and if it's 38 and above, then the doctor is deciding whether or not he or she should be hospitalized.
Four hospitals in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Zugdidi have been allocated to this category of people, and these clinics have been chosen because they have an appropriate base. An information campaign is also underway, with a leaflet outlining all the information at the border,''-says Gamkrelidze.
