House in Tskneti Nominated for EU Mies Award

Noa studio's architectural project, House in Tskneti, was nominated for the EU Mies Award 2022 on January 19.

House in Tskneti is a private house whose construction started in 2014. A large garden is planted around the house and on its roof as a natural source of ventilation. Located in Tskneti, this house, which is completely invisible to its neighbors, fully meets the criteria of modern architecture.

The EU Prize in Modern Architecture is held every 2 years. The prize is organized by the European Commission and Fundació Mies van der Rohe. The aim of this project is to identify and reward quality and distinctive architectural works. In addition to the main prize (€ 60,000), the prize also includes the Emerging Architect Prize (€ 20,000).

The EU Mies Award focuses on the role of European professionals in developing new ideas and technologies to help both private and public institutions better understand the cultural role of architecture in urban construction.

The European Union will finally reveal the winner of the Mies van der Rohe Award for modern architecture in April 2022, later than planned. The award ceremony will be held in Barcelona in May. The change of date was caused by the epidemic situation. Due to the fact that the project envisages the arrival of all members of the jury in the finalist countries and viewing the works, which is impossible in the current situation.
