Government Explains Why It Maintains Public Transport Restrictions
We will do our best to resume the public transport services in safe environment as soon as possible, Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia noted after the Government’s interdepartmental coordination board’s meeting on May 25.
The board members discussed the restrictions that the Government maintains after removal of the state of emergency. They also analyzed how to remove the restrictions gradually based on the epidemiological situation.
“The Authorities realize very well what difficulties our population is facing amid public transport restrictions and explains again that the mentioned steps are to prevent human health threats and maintain positive results that the country has achieved against coronavirus spread”, the press-release reads.
As for May 25, Georgia has registered 731 infected persons, of which 526 have been recovered and 12 persons have died. A total of 3,076 persons remain in quarantine, while 300 persons remain under supervision.
