Georgia Waiting for Remdesivir – Opportunity to Save Critical Patients
Georgia will receive Remdesivir as part of the solidarity research campaign, Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia told Imedi TV Company. Georgia participates in global research project that aims to identify COVID-19 treatment methods.
“Solidarity research project is underway. We will receive Remdesivir as part of this project and we are working with the supplier to deliver this remedy to Georgia as soon as possible. Naturally, Remdesivir is not an only variant. The team of Mr. Tengiz Tsertsvadze is also working on engaging in this process that gives the opportunity to use monoclinal antibodies. This is an additional opportunity for Georgia to join the active research process for creating COVID-19 treatment methods….Thus, this is an opportunity to save heavy and critical patients and we will use this opportunity”, Gabunia noted.
As noted by Tengiz Tsertsvadze, director of Tbilisi Infection Hospital, in 2-3 weeks Georgia will receive Remdesivir and monoclonal antibodies for COVID-19 treatment.
