On June 14-19, France will host one of the largest animated film festivals. The film festival in the city of Annecy has been held since 1960 and gathers world's leading film professionals every year.
This year, the Georgian animated film "Abandoned Village" (director - Mariam Kapanadze, producer - Mariam Kandelaki) will be presented in the competition program of the film festival "Perspective". The world premiere of the animation was held at the Hokkaido International Film Festival in Japan. "Abandoned Village" was created by the studio "Kvali XXI" with the support of the National Film Center. The film center is based on the Georgian film-Abkhazia.
It should be noted that this year the National Film Center, in cooperation with the Georgian Animators Association "Sakanima", will present the Georgian virtual pavilion at the Annecy International Film Festival. Georgian animators will have the opportunity to find co-producers, participate in important meetings online and share the experience of their foreign colleagues. Also, the guests of the Georgian virtual pavilion will get acquainted with the projects and illustrations of Georgian animated films.
