Georgia Temporarily Bans Traffic of Marshrutkas due to Coronavirus Outbreak

Traffic of Marshrutkas will be banned from tomorrow. Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated about it at the press conference held after the meeting of the Coordination Council.

"This is quite difficult, but we had to take this decision. Only the City Hall's public transport and the subway will remain operating in the city. They will be disinfected daily. We can manage risks more this way," the prime minister said.

Marshrutka or routed taxicab, is a form of public transportation such as share taxi which originated in the Soviet Union and is still present in Georgia and other countries of CIS.
