The current population of Georgia is 3 723 thousand, as of January 1, 2019, that is 0.2 % less compared to the previous year. It’s worth mentioning that in 2018 the country saw positive natural growth (4 614) and negative migration balance (-10 783).
According to the Georgian National Statistic Office, the urban population was 58.7 of the total population and almost one-third of the total population live in Tbilisi.
Sakstat reports that the proportion of persons aged 0-14 was 20.3 % of the total population. The share of persons aged 15-64 - 64.9 % and the share of persons aged 65 and older - 14.8 %.
