Georgia’s Parliament has adopted a law providing for changes in the rules for issuing residence permits to foreign nationals - both short-term and investment, as well as D-5 visas.
To get an annual permit to reside, a foreign citizen must purchase property worth $ 100,000 - in the previous version of the law, this amount was $ 35,000.
A work residence permit is issued to a foreigner who is employed in a company where the turnover per foreign citizen is at least GEL 50,000. The minimum wage for employed foreign nationals will be also set.
In case of the dismissal of a foreign specialist, the employer is obliged to inform the Ministry of Justice that will cancel a residence permit.
