Film Dede to be Screened in Washington

Embassy of Georgia in Washington will host screening of the film "Dede" by Mariam Khachvani on March 12th. 

Dede is a 2017 Georgian drama film directed by Mariam Khatchvani. It had an international premiere in the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and screened in East Of West section where it won Special Mention prize.

It was supported by National Film Center, Dona Film Institute and Sundance Film Festival. The film tells the story of the girl from Svaneti, who fights for her love and wins the war. The major part of the movie is in the Svanetian language.

Within the framework of the project, Georgia's embassy in U.S monthly hosts film screenings of contemporary film directors and Georgian classics.
