EU Borders Open - Conditions for Travel to the Schengen Area

The European Commission has released conditions that will protect both members and third-country nationals when traveling to the Schengen area. The conditions also apply to Georgia.

It is recommended that travel restrictions be lifted on the basis of objective criteria.

For citizens of non-EU countries, the borders of the Schengen area will be opened gradually from July 1, but the epidemiological situation in a particular country, the country's readiness to fight Coronavirus, and whether the country has lifted restrictions with the EU will be assessed.

In countries where the situation is changing or the criteria listed are not met, the EU may re-impose restrictions.
