Dispute Between Nona Gaprindashvili and Netflix Ended with Agreement

Nona Gaprindashvili's dispute with Netflix ended with an agreement. It should be noted that the terms of the agreement are not public.

We remind you that Georgian chess player Nona Gaprindashvili filed a lawsuit against Netflix last year and demanded $5 million in compensation.

It is about the final episode of the very famous TV series The Queen's Gambit, where false information is spread.

Gaprindashvili claimed that Netflix downplayed her achievements in order to portray Beth Harmon, the show's main character, as a stronger chess player.

Also, Nona Gaprindashvili is referred to as a Russian chess player who has never played against men, which is a lie.

The lawsuit states: "During her extraordinary career, she won numerous championships, defeated some of the best chess players in the world, and was the first woman in history to achieve the status of International Chess Grandmaster among men."
