Citizens Over 18 are Able to Receive COVID-19 Booster Shot from Tomorrow

Immunization Council approved boosters shots as an additional dose of vaccine.

Deputy Minister of Healthcare, Tamar Gabunia said, that one is able to receive a COVID-19 booster shot from tomorrow.

"We have made several decisions in today's session, one of which is the issue of booster doses. The booster dose can be used by anyone over the age of 18 who has been fully vaccinated with any vaccine.

People vaccinated with Sinopharm or Sinovac can use the same vaccines as booster doses or can be vaccinated with Pfizer.

As for AstraZeneca, after 6 months, citizens can get the Pfizer vaccine as a booster. Also, if one is vaccinated with Pfizer, one can still receive booster shot of Pfizer.

People over 60 can be vaccinated with a booster dose at intervals of 3-6 months after the second vaccination.", noted Tamar Gabunia.

About 3,500 people have already received COVID-19 booster shots.
