Walnuts.ge Plans to Produce Eco-Friendly Nuts
The company plans to maintain eco-friendly production, which means not using herbicides in walnut orchards anymore.
As Davit Bukhnikashvili mentioned with BusinessPartner, the company starts testing in the field of organic fertilizers in 2021.
"The first stage will be on a testing regime in 2021, perhaps, in 2022, we plan not to use herbicides at all.
This is a huge challenge since those types of orchards can not work without herbicides industrially.", declares Davit Bukhnikashvili.
Currently, the company already owns walnut orchards in the region of Sagarejo. For January 2021, the total area of walnut orchards will be 150 hectares.
Walnuts.ge employes 20 people, and additionally, up to 40 locals are employed during the period of spring and summer.
The total price of the investment is 12 million GEL, which is implemented together with German and Australian partners.
