Viticulture Research Institute will Be Restored in Kakheti in 2022

At the end of 2022 a multifunctional hotel complex will open in Telavi, Kakheti Region. Studia 9 company director Zurab Tsiklauri told the Commersant that the company has already obtained due construction license and the works will start in the near future.

The project is being implemented by Vivi company, which will finish a calculation of the required investments soon.

Vivi company representative Giorgi Khitarishvili told the Commersant that the project will be implemented in Telavi, near Railway Station territory, in the place of former Viticulture Research Institute. The project also calls for restoring 40 hectare vineyards owned by the institute, the institute laboratories, build a 150-suite hotel complex and museum. In the future, a wine museum will be also constructed.

‘Owners are conducting negotiations with various brands. Therefore, having chosen the operator company, the project may be redesigned”, Khitarishvili said.
