Uzbekistan Accelerates Development of Industrial Zones to Attract International Capital
Uzbekistan is forming a new logistics hub for Central Asia through industrial zones. DP World is building a multimodal hub in the country that will influence trade routes across the entire region.
Uzbekistan is forming a new model of industrial growth through the development of special industrial zones. Their conditions have already attracted DP World, one of the world's largest logistics operators, to the country. The company is investing in the construction of an international transport and logistics hub in Uzbekistan.
"The Tashkent Multimodal Logistics Terminal will provide the region with world-class infrastructure and modern logistics technologies, enhancing supply chain efficiency and supporting businesses across various sectors," emphasized Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, CEO of DP World, highlighting the project's significance.
Macrotrend: Growth of Investment in Uzbekistan
One of the newest zones is "Yangi Avlod," created last year.
Benefits. Residents receive exemption from four main taxes. Customs benefits are also in effect, and long-term land lease is available with the possibility of using it as collateral.
Specific Ecosystem. Infrastructure is brought to each plot: gas, water, electricity, roads, and sewage. The investor receives a ready-made site.
Near "Yangi Avlod," a new international airport and the Tashkent-Samarkand highway are under construction. The zone will have its own cargo station.
Administrative Model. "Yangi Avlod" operates on a one-stop-shop principle. The management company supports each investment project from legal entity registration to utility connections.
Results: Companies from China and the UAE have already become residents of "Yangi Avlod." Among the honorary residents are East Can Solutions, JAC Motors Toshkent, EAS, and other companies from the food, construction, packaging, and electrical engineering industries.
"We chose 'Yangi Avlod' because of the combination of strategic location, government support, and flexible management. This is a strong starting point for companies that want to enter the Uzbekistan market," said Guo Tianxiao, Chief Sales Specialist of the Marketing and Sales Department at JAC Motors Toshkent.
Uzbekistan's state strategy is turning industrial zones into a tool for economic growth and forming a new industrial center of the region.
