Ubiety from Phubber - Online Store to Introduce New Address Improvement System in June
"Recently I discovered a very interesting English word UBIETY - The condition of being in a definite place! We decided that would be the best name for our new "Secret" project! New Generation E-commerce Maps! ”, - Phubber co-founder Giorgi Chugoshvili writes about the project of improving the address system on his Facebook page.
The co-founder of the e-commerce platform Phubber says, that the idea of an address improvement system, called Ubiety from Phubber, came up in September last year, and work on the project has been underway ever since.
The project covers the whole of Georgia, which means a total investment of 30,000 GEL. Five Phubber team members and up to 35 volunteers were involved in bringing the project to date.
Work on the address system project is nearing completion, with its presentation to the public scheduled for the second half of June this year.
Phubber has made tens of thousands of transactions in the Georgian e-commerce market over the past two years. Unlike other stores, each of our transactions involves two courier services. One, when an item arrives at Phubber's office from the seller, where it undergoes quality control, authentication and packaging, and then the already packaged and inspected item goes from the office to the buyer. In this process, our courier office had to solve many difficulties with addresses, because Google's address system is not adapted to developing countries, and the system that is in Tbilisi for neighborhoods, micro-districts, buildings, does not fit in Google search engine, which makes it difficult to find addresses.
Therefore, we did a little research and found that not only we but also other companies had this problem. We have also looked at this issue from the users side as it is quite difficult for some to add an address, especially for those who are not aware of the features of e-commerce. Our project serves to solve these problems and we will have a presentation in the second half of June," Giorgi Chugoshvili told BM.GE.
