Transavia France Launches Direct Paris–Tbilisi Flights Amid Growing Demand for EU Routes
Transavia France has officially commenced operations at Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli International Airport, marking its entry into the Georgian aviation market. The launch adds another European carrier to Georgia’s growing list of international airline partners.
The low-cost subsidiary of Air France will operate direct, scheduled flights on the Paris Orly–Tbilisi–Paris route twice a week using Airbus A320 aircraft, the Georgian Airports Association (GAA) announced.
“The launch follows intensive negotiations between the Georgian Airports Association and Transavia France, which concluded successfully,” the GAA said in a statement.
The inaugural flight on April 12 carried 163 passengers from Paris Orly Airport. Upon arrival in Tbilisi, the flight was welcomed by Levan Moseshvili, Director General of the GAA, Akaki Barkaia, Deputy General Manager of TAV Georgia, as well as officials from the Civil Aviation Agency and other industry representatives.
Founded in 2006, Transavia France operates as a budget airline under the joint ownership of Air France and Dutch carrier Transavia. Its main hub is Paris Orly Airport. Tickets for the new route are available via the airline’s official website.
