The National Bank of Georgia Relaunches Scientific-Analytical Journal
As part of the anniversary of the Georgian lari, the National Bank of Georgia has relaunched its scientific-analytical journal.
The Bank's first analytical publication, "Banki," was established 25 years ago, followed by "Economics and Banking". The new journal, titled "Monetary Economics," will now be published in both Georgian and English in an updated format.
The journal serves as an academic resource for those interested in monetary policy, the banking and financial sector, financial technologies, and capital market development. It aims to provide a platform for in-depth discussions and will be especially valuable to young researchers and scholars.
“I’m pleased that we are marking the lari’s anniversary with a significant initiative - the relaunch of our scientific-analytical journal. We hope this publication will contribute to both national and international economic discourse. I wish success to the editorial team and all contributors,” said Natia Turnava, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia.
The journal's Editor-in-Chief is Professor Merab Kakulia.
The first issue, prepared entirely by the staff of the NBG, features the following articles:
- The History of the Lari’s Name and Design
- Alternative Assessments of Georgia’s Potential Output
- Estimating Neutral (R-STAR) and Natural (R-BAR) Interest Rates for Georgia
- The Role of Business Loan Growth in Economic Activity
- Open Banking in Georgia and the Future of Open Finance
The next issue will be published in September. The editorial team welcomes article submissions from external authors. Guidelines on article structure and referencing are provided in the journal.
