The First School of Cheese in Georgia Receives Students from Spring
The first school of cheese in Georgia will start to receive students in Spring.
The facility will be arranged in Kakheti and along with theoretical training, students will be able to have a practical session on-site. The school is equipped with laboratory inventories.
The idea to create such a facility belongs to the Chairwoman of the Georgian Cheese Makers' Association, Ana Mikadze. As she defined, the pandemic of coronavirus has reaffirmed the need to create such a school.
According to her, small entrepreneurs did not have the technology for ripening, the most important stage of cheese production. It caused a large amount of spoiled production, and farmers had to reduce productivity or suspend it altogether.
As Georgian Cheese Makers' Association declared, in case of necessary skills, Georgian aged cheese will have a big potential in an international market.
