Tako Japaridze to Head the BTU Entrepreneurship Center
The BTU Entrepreneurship Center has a new head. Tako Japaridze transferred from Neobank Space to this position.
She says that the field of activity, in principle, has not changed. If in the previous job she helped small and medium-sized businesses to develop and implement non-financial services, now its function is to support startups, create various opportunities for them and, in general, contribute to the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
"Entrepreneurship Center implements such projects as: startup status for students, pre-acceleration for technology startups, various trainings in Tbilisi or regions, translation of educational textbooks in entrepreneurship and more. My functions include initiating and managing these projects, engaging in entrepreneurship training, communicating with students, startups, partners and other stakeholders. ”
Tako Japaridze says that the existing startup ecosystem in Georgia has significant potential for development and in this process the BTU Entrepreneurship Center is one of the important contributors.
"Our center operates in partnership with the world-ranked Henley Entrepreneurship Center. This gives us unique opportunities in terms of both access to academic resources and relationships with international investors. We want to deepen the discussion between the private, public and academic spaces, to initiate legislative or other changes necessary for the development of entrepreneurship in the country. We think that the existing startup ecosystem in Georgia has significant potential for development. BTU in turn is one of the important contributors to the processes that serve the development and internationalization of the ecosystem.
The main thing for me is to invest my energy as much as possible in what I do. I am sure that the projects and activities that we are implementing in the Entrepreneurship Center will bring real results to our beneficiaries, be it in the context of refining an idea, deepening knowledge or obtaining funding. ”
