Study: Georgian Furniture Exports and Imports
Based on the 2018 furniture industry survey conducted by AGIC consulting company, the ratio of imported furniture on the domestic market exceeds 50%, but exports seem quite effective anyway.
The country exported $1.7 million furniture in 2019. At the same time, the imports grow year to year.
According to the international trade statistics, the 2018 furniture imports made up 59,962 USD, while the figure marked 68,000 USD in 2019.
Top five importer countries are Turkey, China, Italy, Ukraine and Poland.
The biggest imports were recorded from Turkey in 2018 worth 20,841 thousand USD, China - 8.891 thousand USD and Italy – 7,348 thousand USD.
As for exports, the country exported furniture worth $874,000, while the figure totaled $1.7 million in 2019.
Top five countries, where our furniture is exported: Azerbaijan, Armenia, the USA, Kazakhstan and Turkey.
