Spinom Digital and IT training pioneer - Katalysta launch new developer bootcamp in Georgia
Katalysta, an international IT academy operating under the Telerik Academy brand since 2009 in Bulgaria, enters the Georgian market in collaboration with Spinom Digital, a leading local IT sector company.
The partnership aims to meet the growing demand for qualified IT professionals amid rapid technological sector development in Georgia. Due to the swift adaptation of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital systems in both private and public sectors, demand for new technology talents is significantly increasing. Projections indicate that demand for new personnel in Georgia's IT sector will grow by 58% in the next two years.
15 Years of Experience
Founded 15 years ago, the academy played a crucial role in the career development of over 3,500 professionals and became a significant factor in Bulgaria's technology sector growth. Telerik Academy's innovative 6-month training program - Alpha - helps newcomers start successful careers in the technology industry by developing professional and personal skills. Now, under the Katalysta brand and in partnership with Spinom Digital, this model will be implemented in Georgia, providing Georgian students the opportunity to acquire high-level IT skills while helping the local technology sector meet its demands.
"Entering the Georgian market is a natural continuation of our mission to expand our influence beyond Bulgarian borders and become a catalyst for growth, innovation, and positive change," said Katalysta's CEO Alexandra Mechkova. "Georgia, with its growing IT sector and technological potential, is an ideal location for Katalysta's world-class 6-month Alpha programs. We are excited about our collaboration with Spinom Digital and the prospect of significantly contributing to Georgia's IT ecosystem."
Unique Alpha Training
Katalysta's leading 6-month Alpha program (880+ training hours) is an intensive training designed to acquire skills necessary for success in the IT industry. The program is also suitable for those with no prior experience in this field. Through holistic approaches, combining high-level technical training, personal skill development, and preparation for career challenges, over 90% of Alpha's graduates in the last 10 years have successfully been employed in the IT sector. After completing the program, our graduates are equipped with technical skills and are psychologically prepared to succeed in new environments.
A special characteristic of Alpha's teaching is its hybrid format. Students have access to pre-recorded educational video materials, which allows direct sessions to focus on the equally important aspect of practical assignments, teamwork, and problem-solving during work. This approach increases student engagement and prepares them for new challenges by familiarizing them with real work environments.
Beyond technical knowledge, Alpha pays special attention to developing students' personal "soft" skills like teamwork, communication, and emotional intelligence - qualities critically important in modern work environments. Participants benefit from personalized mentoring and support from a team of professionals. Upon completing training, our graduates automatically become part of Alpha's "Career Support" program, where mentors assist and advise them for 6 months. The support program includes portfolio and resume preparation, interview skill development, job search assistance, and help during the first months of work.
2025 Plans
The first course in Georgia aims to prepare junior Java developers. To replicate the success of Bulgarian programs, the initial training will be conducted in English by Telerik Academy's experienced team.
In parallel, Georgian instructors will undergo high-level preparation courses, acquiring the necessary experience and skills for independent curriculum teaching. The academy's goal is to operate completely independently in the Georgian market by the end of 2025.
"Free Programming Fundamentals" Course and Java Program Registration
For those with minimal or zero programming experience, we've developed a special course - "Programming Fundamentals" which is completely free and includes self-preparation materials and 7 online sessions organized by our mentors. The course aims to introduce programming basics and help newcomers prepare for Java program admission exams.
First Alpha Java training registration is already open. Application deadline: April 13, 2025. The actual learning process will start in mid-May.
Supporting Georgia's IT Sector
Georgia is solidifying its position as a regional technology hub. Katalysta's market entry further confirms the growing significance of the country's digital sector. Local professionals now have access to world-class learning and development standards, enabling them to compete not just locally but internationally.
"We believe that by providing high-level IT education, we can prepare the next generation of IT leaders in Georgia and beyond," said Giorgi Turashvili, Spinom Digital's General Director. "Our partnership with Katalysta will directly address skill deficits and help meet the growing demand for IT specialists in both local and global markets."
