Spark Program Helps Georgian Brands Reach International Markets

The first phase of the joint "Spark" export support program held by the European Union and Tbilisi City Hall has been successfully finished. The three winning companies from Demo Day will soon be available on worldwide marketplaces like Amazon and Etsy, as well as using Shopify for their online sales.

The 1-month e-commerce training course ended with a demo day on June 20, at the Lolita conference space. The participants of the project were evaluated by a jury composed of experts in the field. One of the members of the jury, Zurab Gambashidze, a representative of the Export Development Association, stressed the importance of the project for Georgian businesses and noted that he was interested in several participating businesses for future cooperation:

"I'm glad that a similar program has been implemented. In addition to the winners, I have a few offers for you that might be interesting. Thanks for the presentations."

According to the General Manager of Spark, Tamta Gvelesian, the first part of the project was successfully completed, and the participating companies gained interesting practical knowledge, experience in exporting and placing products on various international platforms, which will help them to successfully conduct their activities in the future.

"The winning teams in the second phase of the project will receive an investment of up to 15,000 GEL to promote their products on the platforms Amazon, Etsy and Shopify".

Cosmo, Funduki and Handicraft are the companies that managed to convince the jury that they are ready to launch their products in the international market and start international sales.
