Soso Pkhakadze to Become President of Georgian Business Association
Giorgi Chirakadze, president of Business Assocaition of Georgia (BAG), plans to quit the position. He will be replaced by Soso Pkhakadze, the first vice President of BAG.
“During my long office at BAG I always believed in and I have always followed one principle – BAG was to be shaped as a strong institution, not dependent on one, 2, 3 or several persons.
I have been president of BAG for 10 years. Key objective has been achieved – today our association is an influential and weighty institution in the country thanks to our efforts, active engagement and hardworking.
Today, after 10-year operation of our institution, when the quantity of BAG member companies hit historical figure (72 companies), when the association has proposed and backed a lot of successful economic and legal reforms, all government branches show, domestic or international organizations, media agencies show much interest towards BAG positions – it is the most appropriate time to sum up outcomes and take decisions on behalf of BAG for its further development and new achievements – I have taken a decision to quit the position of a BAG president, but continue BAG support as previously.
It is also important fact that BAG, as strong and valuable institution, follows the principle of succession and after may resignation, according to the BAG statute, Soso Pkhakadze, the BAG first vice president will become the BAG President, who is a well-known figure business circles and has made huge contribution to developing our organization”, Giorgi Chirakadze noted.
