SMEDA is Holding the First Regional Business Forum

Small and Medium Enterprise Development Association (SMEDA) is the first digital association in Georgia, which was established about a year ago to develop and promote small and medium (SME) businesses.

"We are creating a better business environment in Georgia" - under this slogan the organization brings together successful professionals with many years of experience, who work with businesses, the public sector, local and international donors, the non-governmental sector, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.

The SME Development Association (SMEDA) is a membership-based, independent non-profit organization that aims to nurture and promote the growth and development of SMEs. SMEDA's mission is to promote the sustainability, growth and development of SME businesses through advocacy, innovative approaches tailored to their needs, consulting, and training;

In collaboration with businesses, the public sector, local and international donors, the non-governmental sector, financial institutions and other stakeholders, SMEDA ensures that small and medium-sized businesses play an important role in the country's economy.

By this time SMEDA already has about 170 official members and plans to increase them to 2,000 by the end of 2022.

SMEDA has already implemented several successful projects. These include projects created in partnership and support with USAID: the accelerator startup, which was created to empower female entrepreneurs, and the digital marketing agency Martex, which provides digital marketing services specifically tailored to small and medium-sized businesses.

The digital format, which SMEDA was the first in Georgia to use in this field, attaches special importance to achieving the goals of SMEDA, which allows them to cooperate as quickly and efficiently as possible with the regions farthest from the capital and small and medium-sized businesses there.

Adjara Business Forum, which is supported by TBC, is partly planned in digital format. According to SMEDA representatives, the hybrid format will increase the radius, scale, and effectiveness of this event. In addition to SMEDA, the business forum will be attended by representatives of local governments, donors, financial institutions, and, of course, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.
