RMG Summer School 2023

The fifth cohort of students has successfully concluded the RMG one-month practical program.

RMG's "Summer School" is a distinguished one-month paid internship program, designed to provide students with the opportunity to acquire hands-on experience at the company's enterprise located in the Kazreti district during their summer break. During this period, students were categorized based on their respective fields and interests into areas such as geology, drilling technologies, mineral processing, surveying, geotechnics, and mining technologies.

"This marks the fifth consecutive year we've executed the 'Summer School' student project. In 2023, we welcomed 18 students from diverse faculties of the Technical University of Georgia. They underwent a month of practical production experience, immersing themselves in the company's operations—a pivotal experience in helping them delineate their future professions and molding them into professionals," stated Giorgi Chkheidze, RMG’s Deputy Executive Director for Personnel Affairs.

This esteemed program is designed to enrich student learning and facilitates the application of their theoretical knowledge acquired at the university to real-world scenarios encountered within the enterprise.

“This initiative has significantly fostered my development as a student in this domain, highlighting my strengths and areas needing improvement. It has illuminated the aspects I need to prioritize in my learning and devote more time to. Furthermore, exposure to advanced technology has enriched my experience, illustrating that theoretical knowledge alone is insufficient,” shared Tsotne Selimashvili, a participant of Summer School 2023.

Upon concluding the program, students presented their experiences in summary form to RMG leaders and professors of the Georgia Technical University.

In the subsequent part of the event, students received souvenirs, and all were awarded certificates to acknowledge their dedication and participation in the project. Over the past five years, approximately 120 students from the Mining and Geological Faculty of the Technical University of Georgia have graduated from the summer school project, with 24 having joined the company's team.

Adhering to its corporate responsibility, RMG aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, prioritizing the advancement of quality education. Accordingly, the company orchestrates various educational endeavors, including student programs under the memorandum of cooperation with the Technical University of Georgia: the RMG scholarship program, individual development program, and summer school.
